What the register of licensed sponsors is
The register of licensed sponsors is a spreadsheet the Home Office publishes listing every organisation that currently holds a licence to sponsor workers under the Worker and Temporary Worker routes.
What the register contains
Each row is one organisation on one route: the organisation name as the Home Office records it, its town or city, sometimes a county, the licence type (Worker or Temporary Worker) with its rating, and the route (for example Skilled Worker or Creative Worker). An organisation licensed for several routes appears once per route. The publication of 4 September 2026 has 143,081 rows covering 127,307 organisations.
What it does not contain
- Company registration numbers, addresses or postcodes.
- How many workers the sponsor employs or has sponsored.
- Why an organisation was added or removed.
- Any history — each publication replaces the last.
What this site adds
We keep every publication, so we can show when an organisation first appeared, when it disappeared, and when its rating or routes changed (the changes page). We match each entry to the Companies House register to show the company's status, industry, size band and registered office. Matching is by name and town; an entry with no confident match is shown without company details rather than guessed.

Common questions
- Does the register show how many workers a sponsor employs or how many certificates it can issue?
- No. It lists the organisation name, its town and county, the licence type and rating, and the routes it is licensed for. Nothing else.
- Does the register include company numbers or addresses?
- No. This site links each entry to a Companies House record by matching names and towns; where a match is uncertain it is not shown.
- Is a company that is not on the register unable to sponsor workers?
- The register lists current licence holders. Whether any particular organisation can or cannot sponsor is a question for a regulated adviser or the Home Office.
